The Centre for European Studies at Lund University (CFE) announces the availability of grants for preparing research applications. The Centre has allocated 300.000 SEK (plus LKP) for this purpose during 2021 which will be divided into two calls (spring and autumn). This is the first call. The grant is expected to be used during HT 2021 – VT 2022.

Note: this call was originally published March 10, 2021.

The application must have a clear connection to European matters. It should be based on a perspective (historical or current) that relates to contemporary conditions in Europe. The project should address issues of broader European interest and not issues relevant to a single European country.

CFE gives priority to collaborative projects where the European research is multidisciplinary and involves several faculties. The grant can be used for the applicant’s own work or for the employment of an assistant.

Only researchers employed by Lund University can apply for the grant.

The application should include the following:

  • Information regarding the applicant’s employment and a written confirmation from the head of department that the application is supported by the department and that it is able to host the project.
  • A project description (research question, structure and general approach – maximum three pages), a list of international and/or national partners and a preliminary time schedule.
  • A short CV for the applicant (maximum 2 pages) and information about co-applicants.

The application should be sent electronically through this form not later than May 10, 2021.

The applications will be examined by the CFE’s board. The decision will be announced not later than May 31, 2021.

Grant recipients are expected to follow the principles of accounting that have been decided by CFE’s board. More information about this will be sent to successful applicants.

For more information please contact the Director of CFE, Jörgen Hettne (jorgen [dot] hettne [at] har [dot] lu [dot] se).
