DESCRIPTION:Contact: alezini.loxa@jur.lu.se\n\nThe seminar will focus on th
 e reform of the Statute of the Court of Justice of the EU\, particularly a
 mendments to the Rules of Procedure of both the Court of Justice and the G
 eneral Court. These changes aim to modernise and simplify court procedures
 \, notably introducing provisions that allow the transfer of certain preli
 minary ruling cases from the Court of Justice to the General Court. The am
 endments have been in effect since 1 October 2024. The presentation will a
 lso include a broader discussion on the role of the Advocate-General in th
 e Court of Justice.Dr. Rimvydas Norkus was appointed Advocate-General of t
 he Court of Justice in 2024 and has served as a judge at the General Court
  of the EU since 2019. Previously\, he held several senior positions in th
 e Lithuanian judiciary\, including President of the Supreme Court (2014–
 2019)\, judge of the Lithuanian Court of Appeal (2012)\, and judge of the 
 Supreme Court (2013). He also chaired the Lithuanian Council of Judges (20
 16–2018) and served on the Board of the Network of Presidents of the Sup
 reme Courts of the EU (2016–2019). From 2017 to 2023\, he was a member o
 f the Permanent Court of Arbitration. In academia\, he taught at Mykolas R
 omeris University\, first as an associate professor (2007–2008)\, and la
 ter as a professor at the Institute of Private Law (2012–2019). He is th
 e author of numerous legal publications.&nbsp\;The seminar starts at 13.00
  (sharp)\, and&nbsp\;involves 20-30 minutes of presentation\, followed by
