Seminar with Philippe Sands and Göran Rosenberg

Saving Humanity

The Invention of Genocide and Crimes against Humanity

Philippe Sands, Professor of Law and well-renowned human rights lawyer, meets author and journalist Göran Rosenberg in a conversation about genocide, justice, and family secrets.

In his internationally acclaimed book East West Street: On the Origins of Genocide and Crimes Against Humanity, Philippe Sands embarks on a literary and scholarly journey in the combined search for the story of his Jewish family during the second world war and the story of the two men who gave name to a new category of international war crimes, implemented for the first time at the Nürnberg Trials of 1946. Sand’s book is published in Swedish as Vägen till Nürnberg. En berättelse om familjehemligheter, folkmord och rättvisa (Albert Bonniers förlag).
